Challenge
Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global threat, especially in developing countries. While at Munai, a Brazilian healthtech in partnership with Becton Dickinson and funded by the Gates Foundation, we set out to design Stewardship — a digital platform to help hospitals in Brazil and Latin America optimize antibiotic use and improve patient care.

Solution
Stewardship combines AI and real-time data from hospital systems to guide better antibiotic decisions. The platform integrates analytics dashboards and an intelligent assistant that helps clinicians interpret results quickly and act with precision.

Impact
The project secured US$134,484 in Gates Foundation funding and moved from concept to MVP in just three months. Designed for scalability with Becton Dickinson, Stewardship established a new model for using design and AI to address antimicrobial resistance across Latin American hospitals.
